“If you hear a voice within saying, ‘You are not a painter,’ then by all means paint, that voice will be silenced.”
Vincent van Gogh
My passion for visual art has been with me since I was a child. When I was deciding on a career path, knowing I enjoyed art, my father’s advice to me was, “ You will always be able to do all the art you enjoy. Choose a career that is meaningful, essential, and a career that will allow you to be independent.” Heeding his advice, I pursued a career in nursing. I love being a nurse and have gained many fulfilling life experiences, knowledge, and compassion in my journey as a nurse. From specializing in neurosurgery caring for critical patients to volunteering as a medic at the finish line at the NYC marathon, I am grateful for my father’s advice.
I have always kept my love for the arts alive. As I furthered my education as a nurse, I also earned a degree in Visual Arts. My artwork has always been about life and enjoying the simple things it has to offer. As an artist at The Society of Bluffton Artists, Bluffton, SC, I am excited to explore more of my artistic style.
